Shopping for Baby Food

Shopping for baby food can be tricky – with so many brands and varieties it can be difficult to select the correct items.

Below are some baby food shopping pointers from experienced shoppers:

  • Brand
    • "Narrow it down by brand first. You’ll notice that baby food is separated by brand in the aisle."
  • Stages
    • "After you’ve found your brand, look for the stage of food you need. Baby foods are organized into stages based on the baby’s age: Stage 1 (4-6 months), Stage 2 (7-8 months), Stage 3 (9-12 months), and Stage 4 (12+ months/toddler meals)."
  • Shelf tags
    • "You can also check shelf tags to identify items. Look for the description that matches the requested item in the app."
  • Barcode
    • "Compare the last 4 digits of the SKUs on items to see if an item is correct, or scan the item to add it to your cart."
  • Product Design
    • "Look for the color, design, and container type (glass jar, plastic container, pouch, etc.) that matches the particular item requested in the app. Remember that packaging can change, so use this as a final check."
  • Substitutions
    • "If you have to make any substitutions, consider communicating those substitutions all at once. Keep in mind the details of the originally requested item (stage, organic, brand, etc.) when searching for options."
